Is it just me, or George pretty stupid?

I don't know exactly wats going on yet, but I think Tesman is rather stupid. He doesn't seem to notice anything that is going on around him. It is pretty obvious that Hedda treats him wrong, but he seems not to notice. It is pretty obvious that Hedda was trying to get rid of him so that she could she could talk to Mrs. Elvsted alone. It is pretty obvious that Miss Tesman or Mrs. Elvsted don't like Hedda very much and vice versa, but George just really seems to not notice. Either this stuff is really going over his head, or he's just over looking it to keep things cool and dandy in his life. I, personally, think he's stupid, especially with that "uh" and "huh" stuff.

haha...i totally agree w/ u girl! Tesman IS stupid. And I think he does the things he does for reasons HE thinks are worth it all. Like, i think he puts up w/ Hedda's crap, because he feels like she's his "trophy wife", so he has to cater to her every need, let her walk all over him, and etc... because he thinks hes not good enough for her. Basically he kinda thinks she has the right to act like she does cuz she's "better" than everyone else since she's so use to luxurious things and being....*glamorous*. What do you think? i mean....if im wrong, call me out on it, but i think this is his reasoning.

I thinks he puts up wit her crap bcuz she's tha onlii one that wud put up with his UGH-ness... tht is so not a word but o well. Lik Hedda and George both hav totally opposite personalities! It think she is an upgrade for him and thts y he married her. MAyb he had his own selfish reason 4 marryin her. Its a possiblity!!

I agree... this guy is like so easy goin its stupid... He like overlooks everything and basically allows Hedda to just run over him the whole play... He's always uh, and imagine that, and just plain ol plain.... and he doesn't really ever change over the time of the play... everything jus goes right over him

I just think that George is neive and child-like......maybe b/c he has been treated like a child all his life by aunt Julie...or maybe he is just doing it as a front to irritate Hedda.
